  In a bid to promote the Sports of Golf in Rivers State, the Ogoni Golfers Association will on Saturday 1st November 2025, tee off its inaugural Golf Kitty at the  Intels  Golf Club in Port Harcourt A release signed by the  Coordinator of the tournament, a veteran golfer and a renown Sports Administrator in Rivers State, Mr.Loveday Deemua indicates that the maiden Ogoni Golf tournament will attract notable Ogoni golfers like Sen. Ben Birabi, ⁠Hon Joe Poroma , ⁠Dr Honour Sirawoo  ⁠Chief John Yowika Others expected at the event   are, Princess Joyce Nule ( Former President Lady Golfers Association of Nigeria ) Mr Edward Eresu Deekae, ⁠Engr Godwin Barika  , Dr Legbosi Yamaabana And a host of others Accordingly to the statement, highlights of the event will include awards presentation , topnotch entertainment and conviviality.

        Former MOSOP President Legborsi       Pyagbara  Former President of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People, Legborsi Pyagbara, has asserted that Oyigbo Local Government Area belongs historically to the Ogoni people. Speaking on the issue, Mr. Pyagbara maintained that the current inhabitants of Oyigbo are migrants who crossed from a neighbouring state across the Imo River, and therefore, cannot claim ownership of the land. He further explained that the creation of Oyigbo Local Government Area does not in any way strip the Ogoni people of their ancestral rights to the area.   The RT Honourable Dumle Maol 's Gokana championship cup football tournament tagged Gokana 2025 is set to kick off on the 23rd of November with B.
