Golf :Isifei Michael wins PH Amateur open

The golf section of Porthacourt club went agog as Isifei Michael emerged the overall winner of the 2025 edition of  Porthacourt amateur open golf championship 


Isifei Michael of Enugu  golf club recorded the best gross score in the tournament to emerge the champion of the tournament 


Speaking to newsmen shortly after receiving his top prize ,Isifei Michael expressed elation for  emerging the overall winner of the competition, adding that he hasn't been playing golf for white some time and couldn't believe he would win the tournament.


According to him, few weeks to the tee off of the tournament I lost my grandmother which happens to be his mother 's birthday 


I was emotionally and mentally down and when surprisingly when the tournament teed off I won the championship"said the handicap four golfer with finality

On his part, the chairman of the tournament organizing committee Chukwunonso Orajaka thanked the sponsors for their noble gesture which ensured the tournament witnessed a huge success and hailed all the participants who trooped out in their large numbers to participate in the championship 



In his own remarks   captain golf section of Porthacourt club Timson Okah  also showed appreciation for the sponsors who out of their magnanimity bankrolled the championship to the delight of participants and other guest players who turn up for the event.



Meanwhile Samuel Amadi who is fondly called the undertaker finished as second runner up while several prizes were given to winners  of other categories and sponsors to show appreciation for their support.



Competition secretary of the golf section of Porthacourt club ORDINANCE Emeji also smiled home with one of the prizes in his category
