The Captain of the Golf Section of Port Harcourt Club 1928, Mr. Timson Okah, has commended the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the 2025 edition of the Port Harcourt Amateur Open Golf Championship for successfully hosting a remarkable tournament.

Mr. Okah made this known during the ceremonial tee-off of the championship held at the Port Harcourt Club Golf Course.

Speaking with newsmen, the Golf Captain praised the tournament’s organizing committee, led by Mr. Chukwunonso, for staging what he described as a memorable and well-coordinated event that will remain outstanding in the annals of golf in Rivers State.

He also appreciated the sponsors for their invaluable support, which enabled the committee to deliver a highly successful tournament. According to him, participants themselves can attest to the excellent organization and smooth conduct of the event.

Mr. Okah further commended the players for their impressive performances on the course, noting that the game of golf is experiencing rapid growth in Rivers State. He called on sponsors to continue supporting both professional and amateur tournaments, stressing that such efforts will help elevate the sport to greater heights.
