NYG: Team Rivers falters in early start

 Rivers state Swimming team Rivers state shooting range team NYG, ASABA 2025 : Rivers state director of sports targets medals despite state poor showing. Team Rivers had a disappointing start to their campaign at the Ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta state. Team Rivers lost 4- 0 to Kwara state in Karate.  On the basketball court, Team Rivers male side suffered a 10- 8 defeat to Niger state while the female team also lost 6-5 to bayelsa state. In swimming, Rivers State finished 5th and 6th  in heat one of 200m Individual Medley Boys. Despite the teams poor showing, Rivers state Director of Sports,Ogbia Inyeingikabo is hopeful the state will earn podium places as the competition progresses.   Love Dareke is the winner of the 32nd edition of  Porthacourt ladies open golf championship  Love Dareke recorded the highest gross score to emerge the overall winner of the championship  However, in category two, former lady captain of Porthacourt club golf  Eva West scored  298 gross to cart home the top prize in that  category Speaking shortly after receiving her top prize winner of the tournament Love Dareke expressed joy for coming top in the tourney She particular commended the tournament organizing committee for putting up a wonderful tournament, adding that she and other participants had a swell time both on and off the golf course during the competition. Tennis coaching course holds in PH

Grassroots coaches in Rivers state will have the opportunity to upgrade their coaching techniques in tennis and be bag certification when  the professional tennis registry certification course gets underway in Porthacourt  Organizer of the event , coach Lookman Ajibose in a statement said the event will commence on the second of September and end on the 5th at the tennis section of Porthacourt club  He added that tennis coaches and relevant stakeholders in the sports sector are expected to be in attendance and upgrade their coaches skills in the game of tennis. The fitness expert Lookman Ajibose hinted that lead instructor coach Abel Ubiebi from the United States of America is among the resource persons that will deliver a lecture at the program . He said interested participants are expected to pay the sum of six hundred and fifty thousand naira as entry fee. Golfers storm garden city for PH ladies open

 Over a hundred lady golfers from the six geo-political zone in Nigeria and other part of Africa are already in the garden city of Porthacourt to compete in the 32nd edition of Porthacourt ladies open golf championship  The tournament which teed off on Monday saw fifteen year old Ene Abasi Emmanuel coming tops in the senior boys event in the children's category while seventeen year old Christy Obomanu Asisi of sports University at Asaba finishing s the overall winner in the senior girls event  Speaking with sportsmaster moment after the presentation of Prizes  , Ene Basi Emmanuel expressed enjoying for coming tops in his category.
