The 5th edition of the Amayanabo of the ancient Bonny Kingdom football tournament sponsored by  NLNG kicked off in grandstyle yesterday  with defending champion Ibani fc  trashing Bright Stars 3-0 in the opening ceremony 



The match which was played on an  innovative  synthetic turf for the first time  since the inception of the competition drew the attention of notable dignitaries and soccer fans who came from far and near to catch a glimpse of the encounter

Captain of Ibani fc and man of the match Benedict Pepple scored a hat-trick in the match  to edge out bright stars from the tournament 


Benedict Pepple who received a rousing reception moments after his impressive performance after the match told Barry Global  news that he is looking forward to leading his side to retain the trophy in this year's edition of the tournament 


He said the tournament will serve as a breeding ground for his team mates and other talented Footballers in Bonny Kingdom to showcased their potentials in quest  of stardom
