The executive chairman of Ahoada East local government council Honourable Solomon Abuba Ochoma says the LGA 's chairman cup will provide the platform for upcoming and talented Footballers in the Orashi region to showcase their skills in quest of stardom and greener pastures 



The executive chairman of Ahoada East local government council Solomon Abuba Ochoma stated this during the opening ceremony of the Chairman cup sponsored by his administration 



Solomon Abubu Ochoma said the actual essence of the tournament is to discover and nurture talents in the LGA to stardom, adding that his administration has put every measure in place to harness the abundant football talents abound in the Orashi region .



Solomon Abubu who was full of praises for the local organizing committee led by Richard Elvis while speaking with news men moments after the opening match between United all stars of Ahoada and NYSC team said his administration is committed to the development of grassroots sports so as to continue the legacies of his predecessor, High Chief Barrister Ben Eke who was given the award of grassroots power of sports in Rivers state during his tenure as chairman of the LGA

On his part, chairman of the occasion,High Chief Barrister Benjamin Eke represented by former Caretaker committee chairman of Ahoada East  Charles Luke expressed satisfaction with the organization of the tournament and charged the participating teams to use the competition as a window to showcase their talents and carve a niche for themselves through the game of football.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the local organizing committee Richard Elvis commended the executive chairman of Ahoada East  local government council Honourable Solomon Abuba Ochoma for bankrolling the tournament which according to him will go  a long way to foster unity among the youths of Ahoada East and Orashi by extension .



He disclosed that the overall winner of the tournament will take home the sum of 1.5milloon naira  while the first runners up gets the consolation prize of one million naira , disclosing that the second runner up takes home the sum of five hundred thousand naira .


Richard Elvis however heaped encomium on the former executive chairman of Ahoada East High Chief Barrister Ben Eke for laying the foundation for grassroots sports to thrive in the Orashi region.


Barry Global news reports that United all stars of Ahoada beat NYSC team of Ahoada East by two nil in the opening match of the tournament 


However Non- indigenes  will take on Buffalo fc today in the tournament proper
