The Professional golfers Association of Nigeria says the organization is now gaining international and global recognition 


The tournament director of Professional golfers Association of Nigeria Johnbull Dangofa stated this at the closing ceremony of the recent Vice Presidents cup held at the golf section of Porthacourt club 1928


Johnbull Dangofa said  PGAN is now affiliated to the Global PGA tand safari tour, adding that the overall winner of the vice presidents cup , Godwin Oloko will compete in the Safari tour having amassed the total of five hundred points which will enable him improve on his ranking on the global stage .

According to him, the PGAN under the leadership of DR Tony Philmoore is now a global brand and we are now recognized  internationally.

The PGAN is saddled with the responsibility of making sure our pros play tournament month in and month out and with the help of our sponsors, we gradually getting to that level.


Johnbull Dangofa, who is also the president of talented sports men and women in Rivers state however showered encomium on the sponsors who have been very supportive to the PGAN, explaining that the Life vice presidents cup was aimed at showing appreciation to all the Life vice presidents of the association for their encouragement and support 


The sport administrator cum Politician further disclosed that members of the Safari tour will be coming to Porthacourt to participate in the Keves global golf championship sponsored by one of their Life vice Presidents, Chief Ikenna Okafor .


He said the sponsor of the tournament Chief Ikenna Okafor has graciously increased the prize money to fifty thousand dollars which is equivalent to seventy five million naira in the Nigeria currency, adding that the event is the biggest golf tournament in the West African sub region.


'The Keves Global golf championship which annually holds at the Python international golf club in Porthacourt in the month of November will attract top rank golfers within Africa and other parts of the world 


The overall winner of the tournament will take home not less than fourteen million naira' said the PGAN tournament director with finality
