Flying eagles set to erase the memory of Chile 87, Battles Norway in FIFA U-20 world cup

The flying eagles of Nigeria will today Kick start their campaign at the FIFA U-20 world cup against Norway in Chile 


The Coach Aliyu Zubair  tutored side will be looking forward to recording their first win in the tournament so as to  begin their campaign on a flying note 


The Flying eagles who have been two time runners in the tourney both in 1989 and 2005 will be aiming to break the jinx of the nearly success syndrome that has bedevilled the nation in her previous outing and win the tournament for the first time  


Ghana is the only African country that has won the tournament  and Nigeria regarded as the Giant of Africa wants to use their 14th appearance in the competition to become the second African country to win the title 


The Seventh time  African champions will also want to erase the memory of a disastrous outing by the flying eagles set of  Chile  87 that crashed out of the tournament in the group stages  .


An outing that traumatized the fans  after the exit of Nigeria from the tournament and destroyed the football careers of the then flying eagles squad 


Hence the flying eagles most put that bad memory behind and ensure history doesn't repeat itself by winning today's match convincingly inorder to qualify from the group.


The flying eagles who finished third at the last CAF U-20 AFcon played two build up games against Chile which ended in a one all draw before spanking Australia 3-1 in their final preparatory games .
