Golfers storm garden city for PH ladies open


 Over a hundred lady golfers from the six geo-political zone in Nigeria and other part of Africa are already in the garden city of Porthacourt to compete in the 32nd edition of Porthacourt ladies open golf championship 


The tournament which teed off on Monday saw fifteen year old Ene Abasi Emmanuel coming tops in the senior boys event in the children's category while seventeen year old Christy Obomanu Asisi of sports University at Asaba finishing s the overall winner in the senior girls event 

Speaking with sportsmaster moment after the presentation of Prizes  , Ene Basi Emmanuel expressed enjoying for coming tops in his category.

The prodigious talented golfer who idolized in Tiger woods said he is looking forward to becoming professional golfer in the nearest future 

On her part, Christy Obomanu Asisi said she did not actually train very  well for tournament but was able to perform well on the golf course 



Meanwhile earlier today the flag hoisting and ceremonial tee off was done today at the golf section of Porthacourt club  as  golfers ranging from zero to 28 handicap has earlier competed  in the first round of play to justle for mouth-watering prizes 


However action continues tomorrow on the 28th of August, 2025 as lady golfers and their men counterparts will compete in the second round of play in quest of honours in the morning  and cool off at club House regarded as hole 19 in the golfing fraternity for refreshment and entertainment as there will be old school music by the DJ at the golf section of Porthacourt club 1928


The tournament is expected to end on Friday where there will be presentation of Prizes to the winners in the various category  after qualifed  lady golfers will compete along with the sponsors earlier in the morning.
