The decision by the Confederation of African football to strip Senegal of Afcon title and declaring Morocco new champions of Africa who lost in the final of the African cup of nations recently has continued to elicit reactions from football lovers across the continent and the world at large.

While some Football fans have continued to heapes heavy criticism on CAF for their verdict, others feel Senegal deserved the punishment meted out to them by the continent soccer ruling body

In his views,  a  sports philanthropist based in the garden city of Portharcourt,  Chief Ernest Elochukwu has berated the Senegalese senior national team for walking out of the pitch during the recent final of the AFCON in Morocco.

Chief Ernest Elochukwu, chairman of  Nestello Gateway  group, (an outfit that is into clearing and forwarding)  noted that the action of Senegal during the Afcon final was very unprofessional capable of bringing the game to disrepute.

The former Chairman of Rivers State scrabble Association said the rules of the game must be followed and when it's violated, the needed punitive measures must be taken to penalize the airing team.

According to him, when a team abandons a particular match for up to fifteen minutes, it's stipulated in  the rules of CAF or FIFA that the match Should be awarded to the opponents of that team .

Though what happened was unprecedented but if Senegal aired in  course  of abandoning the match ,  then they should face the penalty and be stripped of the AFCON title.

The former President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed customs agents said though he may not be quick to condemn the verdict of CAF against Senegal until the court of arbitration for sports rule on  the appeal brought before it by the Terenga lions .

He pointed out that what will decide the fate of Senegal at the court of arbitration for sports (CAS) is the time they wasted after the penalty was awarded against them

If by the rules of the game they  abandoned the match for  over 15 minutes, then the verdict of CAS won't go in their Favour" said the marine guru with finality
